Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities

VolunteerA current schedule of volunteer opportunities may be found in our online list of opportunities or in the Three Rivers Park District volunteer newsletter. This newsletter is published twice a year for spring/summer and fall/winter seasons. The park patrol brochure is available each fall. Contact the Volunteer Office at 763/559-6706 or volunteer@threeriversparkdistrict.org to register as a volunteer or for more information.

Qualifications
Volunteer position qualifications range from no previous experience, only a desire to support Three Rivers Park District mission, to specific skills like bird or plant identification, intermediate ski ability, or sign language. Unless stated otherwise, volunteers must be at least 16 years of age unless volunteering as a team with an adult. Volunteers are selected based on available positions, requirements of each position and successful completion of training.

Training Requirements
New volunteers must attend a Volunteer Orientation program. Additional training may be required for each volunteer position. < Upcoming Volunteer Orientations

Commitment
Three Rivers Park District volunteers are asked to commit to 30 hours a year. Some volunteer positions may request a greater commitment. A one year or longer commitment is preferred for most positions.

Benefits
Three Rivers Park District volunteers have fun, meet new people, get outdoors in some of the most beautiful parkland in the metro area, and enjoy the challenge of learning new skills. Park District Volunteers earn benefits such as a Volunteer Fun Pass after 30 hours of service. The Volunteer Fun Pass offers free or discounted access to park facilities with user fees. Volunteers receive additional benefits based on hours of service such as a volunteer T-shirt and recognition pins. Recognition events and special training opportunities also may be scheduled.
