Cross-Country Ski
Trails
Three
Rivers Park District features 73 miles of groomed trails at eight
locations. Trails are available for skiers of all skill levels, from beginners
to experts.
Four parks offer lighted trails for evening skiing. The Elm Creek Park Reserve winter recreation
area features snowmaking along a 2.5K lighted trail. Ski trail
hours vary by location.

Ski Passes
- Three Rivers Park District Cross-Country Ski Passes are required for skiers ages 12 and older
- A Daily pass is $4 (available at trailhead pay boxes, visitor centers and Hyland Ski & Snowboard Area)
- The value of one daily ski pass may be applied toward the purchase of a Season cross-country ski pass.
- A Season pass is $50 per household;
$25 for each additional pass in the same household
- Order a Season Cross-Country Ski Pass online (Passes also are available at visitor centers and Hyland Ski & Snowboard Area.)
- Parking is free everyday.
- Minnesota Ski Passes are not required in Three Rivers Park District.

- Ski-skate packages available at Baker, Elm Creek, French,

- Child's pulk sled available at Baker, Hyland Lake - $6
- Adaptive Pulks available at Eastman, Lowry and Richardson Nature Center - $5

Skiing
Lessons
Three Rivers Park District offers a full range of cross-country skiing
lessons for adults, children and families. Lessons are available for traditional
stride or ski skating.
Snowmaking
- A lighted 2.5K trail with snowmaking is available at Elm Creek Park Reserve in Maple Grove.
- Hyland Ski & Snowboard Area in Bloomington opens the base of its ski hill for cross-country skiing from 7-10 a.m. Monday-Thursday and 7-9 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting.
How
Trail Conditions Are Rated
The goal of the cross-country ski program at Three Rivers Park District
is to provide the best possible trail conditions for skiers of all abilities.
Trail conditions may change throughout the day, depending upon weather
conditions and use.
- Ski trail conditions are updated Tuesdays and Fridays by 3 p.m., unless
a weather event changes conditions
- The following parks are groomed on a daily basis: Elm Creek, French,
Baker, Hyland, and Cleary
- Secondary parks are groomed two times/week or as needed and include
Eagle, Carver, Murphy-Hanrehan
- Further information may be obtained by calling individual parks

Skijoring/Dogsledding
Three Rivers Park District has dedicated trails to the increasingly
popular sports of skijoring (cross-country skiing while harnessed to a
dog) and dogsledding at five park locations. Visit the skijoring/dogsledding

Pulks
Pulks, which are used for carrying children, are allowed on certain
trails. Call 763/559-9000 for more information.
