Does Three Rivers Park District charge parking fees?
Parking is free for personal/family vehicles. Fees apply for commercial vehicles, buses and vans. See parking fees for details.

Where can I walk my dog in Three Rivers Park District? Pets are permitted on Regional Trail Corridors and on designated trails in all parks. To find pet trail information on this web site, select Trails and then Designated Pet Trails. Pets must be on a leash no more than six feet long. Owners must clean up after pets and dispose of pet feces in a sanitary manner.

Where can I exercise my dog off-leash?
The Park District's off-leash pet exercise/training
areas are available by special permit. They are located at
Crow-Hassan Park Reserve, Elm Creek Park Reserve, Cleary Lake Regional
Park, Carver Park Reserve and Lake Sarah Regional Park. A special-use permit is required. For more information, call (763) 559-9000;

Is alcohol allowed in the parks?
Beer is allowed in cans or bottles, and wine is allowed. No special permit is required. Hard liquor, kegs and other bulk quantities are not allowed.

What is required of horseback riders?
Each horseback rider age 16 or older must have a Horse Trail Pass.

Do I need a special pass to cross-country ski in Three Rivers
Park District?
A Three Rivers Park District Cross-Country Ski Pass is required for skiers ages 12 and older. The Great Minnesota Ski Pass is not required. Click here for details.

Is there a discount for senior citizens or persons with disabilities?
There is not a discount based on age or disability. Instead, a free activity passes are available, based on income eligibility, through the following programs:
- "Parks for All People" - Through cooperative agreements with Hennepin County and Scott County, qualified recipients of county economic assistance can receive applications for a free Park Patron package. The forms can only be issued by county economic assistance departments. The form must be redeemed at Three Rivers Park District Headquarters, either by mail or in person.
- Income-eligible senior citizens - Persons age 65 and older who meet
income eligibility standard can receive a free activity pass.
A registration form is available at Nature Centers and Visitor Centers,
or by calling (763) 559-9000. The free permits are issued only from
Three Rivers Park District Administrative Center.

Are Three Rivers Park District facilities accessible for persons with disabilities?
Most park buildings are wheelchair-accessible, and all parks have wheelchair-accessible restroom facilities. For specific questions about accessibility of specific trails, beaches, picnic areas, etc., call (763) 559-6707. Four Three Rivers Park District are among the sites featured in the "guide to universal access at 50 recreation areas throughout Minnesota" on Wilderness Inquiry's Web site: www.wildernessinquiry.org/mnparks.
Persons with disabilities are welcome at all Three Rivers Park District programs, facilities and activities. Staff will work with individuals and groups to accommodate persons with special needs. Requests for specific services such as sign language interpretation, publications in braille or large print, etc., can be directed to the Park Guest Services Supervisor at (763) 559-6707 (TDD 559-6719).

What should I do with injured or orphan wildlife?
Call the Wildlife Clinic at the University of Minnesota at (612) 624-7730. They are staffed with volunteers to assist with phone calls and the care of injured or orphaned animals. The Park District does not have the necessary facilities to care for these animals.

Can I release an animal in the park?
No. The Park District has a policy that does not allow animals to be released in the parks. Animals such as raccoons, squirrels and mice already have well-established populations in the parks. In many cases, released animals from other locations have difficulty finding food and avoiding predators. Individual animals that are accustomed to contact with humans may become nuisances to park users and neighbors. Also, in some cases there is a danger of introducing disease organisms into the native animal populations.

Is Three Rivers Park District part of Hennepin County?
Three Rivers Park District is governed by its own board of commissioners and is a separate entity.
