Wedding Site Details

We recommend that you visit Gale Woods Farm well before your wedding date to view the wedding ceremony site. Tours of the pavilion and ceremony site are available by appointment only.

Wedding Sites

  • Gale Woods WeddingWhaletail Lake Overlook - This grassy clearing located under two maple trees is located 400 feet from the pavilion and has a beautiful view of the lake. Exclusive use of this site is free during the time of a pavilion reservation. 320 chairs are available for rental at $2/each. Groups are not allowed to bring or set up their own chairs.

Wedding Rehearsal
If you have a wedding reservation, the overlook site may be used for a rehearsal for free during park hours (5 a.m. to sunset) provided there are no other rentals, or you may rehearse on the day of your reservation. Please call the reservations office at 763/694-2001 to schedule your rehearsal.

Pavilion Rental Gale Woods Wedding
The farm's spacious four-season pavilion overlooks the lake, pastures and gardens, providing an ideal setting for receptions. This facility was designed to fit the rural character of the farm.  It is capable of seating up to 320 people for a banquet with a combination of picnic and round banquet tables. Large doors on the side of the building roll open to invite guests to stroll on the hiking trails. The pavilion offers the amenities of an urban conference center within a rural farm setting, including:

  • Serving counters with electrical outlets and a sink for caterers
  • Commercial refrigerator/freezer
  • Ample indoor restrooms
  • A stage and sound system
  • Plenty of nearby parking
  • Large charcoal grill (no fee)
  • View table layouts

Caterers
Three Rivers Park District is committed to providing an extraordinary family friendly and open environment for your special event or gathering. To ensure a distinctive and personalized experience for your event, Three Rivers Park District has established the Three Rivers Park District Approved Catering list (PDF). By establishing the approved list of caterers, The Park District has reinforced our commitment to providing the highest level of service and guest satisfaction. If you choose to have your special event at Gale Woods Farm catered, you must select your caterer from the Approved Catering list.

Rental Availability
All Day Use: 10 a.m.-midnight. The pavilion is only open during the time of the reservation. Decorations and food may only be set-up during the rental period.

Rental Fees
Monday-Thursday, April-October: $850
Friday-Sunday and Holidays, April-October: $1,300
November-March: $850 every day
Fees do not include sales tax

Reservation and Payment
Payment is due in full at the time of the reservation. Payment may be made by credit card (Visa, Mastercard or Discover). Payment may be made by cash or check if received at the time of the reservation.

The reservation fee provides exclusive use of the pavilion, the pavilion parking lot and the surrounding grounds, but not of the entire park. Other park guests may be visiting the site during the time you have reserved. The park host on duty will do their best to limit these park users from infringing on your event and assist with any problems.

Pavilion Damage Deposit
A damage deposit of 25% of the rental fee will be due at the time of the reservation. If no damages occur the deposit will be refunded within 30 days of your reservation.

Security Fee
A security fee will be charged in addition to the rental fee and any other associated fee when a large group is renting this facility and is serving alcohol. The fee will apply if alcohol is self-provided or supplied by a vendor, and the rental time period extends beyond 7pm. The fee will be determined at the time of the reservation and covers the cost of providing on-site security during the rental.

Cancellation Policy
If a cancellation is made 240 days prior to the use date, 100% of the fee will be refunded. If a cancellation is made 120 days prior to the use date, 80% of the fee is refunded. Cancellations made 60 days prior to the use date, 50% will be refunded. All cancellations made after 60 dates are non-refundable. No refunds are given due to weather conditions unless the park or facility is officially closed due to severe life threatening weather.

In conjunction with renting this facility, groups can take part in farm experiences such as:

  • Canoeing
  • Hayrides (Spring/Summer/Fall)
  • Horseshoes
  • Volleyball
  • Snowshoeing

Directions
From I-494, go west on I-394/Highway 12 for four miles. Exit on County 15 West in Wayzata and travel eight miles. Turn left in Mound on County Rd 110, then travel three miles and look for Gale Woods park signs. Turn right at driveway and proceed up the hill into the park.
From Highway 7 and County Rd 44 (Lake Minnetonka Regional Park), head north on County Road 44 to Mound; turn Left on County Rd 110, then travel one mile and turn right at Gale Woods driveway and proceed up the hill into the park.
