Family Campground Reservations and Policies

CamperFamily-size campsites are available at Baker Park Reserve Campground on Lake Independence, Lake Auburn Campground in Carver Park Reserve and the Red Pine Hike-in Family Camping Area in Cleary Lake Regional Park near Prior Lake. Campgrounds are open from May through late October.

Baker and Lake Auburn sites each have a picnic table and a fire ring and can accommodate two tents or one tent and one RV, with a maximum of eight people per campsite. Red Pine sites can accomodate tent camping only, and have picnic tables and fire rings.

Campers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Leashed pets are permitted in campgrounds but must not disturb neighboring campsites.

Campgrounds

Baker Park Reserve Campground - 210 sites, including 98 with electricity. Showers and flush toilets (wheel chair accessible). RV dump station. Daily fee (+ tax): $17/site; $22/site with 30amp electrical service; $25/site with 50/30amp electrical service. 20 miles west of Minneapolis on County Road 19, between Highway 12 and Highway 55. 763/694-7662. Lake Auburn Campground - 54 sites plus 2 hike-in sites. Rustic camping - pit latrines (wheel chair accessible), hand pump, no showers, no electricity. RV dump station (for a fee). Daily fee (+ tax): $11/site. Near Victoria on Carver County Road 11 between Highway 5 and Highway 7. 952/443-2911.

Red Pine Hike-in Family Camping Area - 5 sites. Rustic tent camping only - pit latrines (wheel chair accessible), water pump nearby, no showers, no electricity. Daily fee (+ tax): $11/site. Located in Cleary Lake Regional Park, near Prior Lake on County Road 27 (Texas Avenue) just south of County Road 21. 763/694-7777.

Reservations

General campground reservations begin March 17, 2008.

Call the Reservations office at 763/559-6700 at least one week in advance of your desired reservation date. Call the campground directly for reservations with less than two day's notice.

  • A $7.50 non-refundable service fee per site is charged for all campground reservations and for any changes made to your reservation.
  • Check-in time is 4:00 p.m., and check-out time is 3:00 p.m.
  • Beer and wine are permitted. Kegs, other bulk containers, and hard liquor are not allowed.
  • The maximum length of stay is 14 days within a 30-day period.
  • Weekend reservations must include both Friday and Saturday nights; three nights will be required for all holiday weekends.

To make a reservation, we need the following information:

  1. Campground and desired date(s).
  2. Site(s) desired.
  3. Alternate dates and sites.
  4. Your name, address, and phone number.

Payment Procedure

  1. Credit Card (MasterCard, Visa, and Discover accepted.) Please have card number and expiration date available.
  2. All reservations must be paid in full when making a reservation.

Cancellation Policy

  1. Refund Requests for any portion of the reservation period must be submitted at least two days prior to your arrival date by 4 p.m. by calling the Reservations office. The $7.50 service fee is non-refundable.
  2. No refunds are given if less than 48 hours prior to your check-in date.
  3. No refunds are given due to weather conditions unless the park or facilities are officially closed due to severe threatening weather.
  4. A $7.50 non-refundable per site service fee is charged for all reservations and for any changes made to your reservation.
