Gale Woods Farm Folk School strives to enrich lives and establish connections by inviting members of the community to gain and develop their knowledge and skills in various practical and artistic crafts. The Folk School offers a bounty of opportunities to learn skills such as gardening, farming, fiber arts and cooking all in a casual, group setting. Become a Folk School Cardholder and open the door to lifelong learning and friendships!

2009 Workshop Offerings

• Reservations are required for all Folk School workshops.
• Most workshops are designed for participants 14 years old and up. If the description indicates Families Welcome, children 5 years old and up will enjoy participating with adult supervision.  Please indicate ages when registering.

Backyard Composting
Tuesday, July 14 | 6:30 — 8:30 pm

Get the dirt on composting -- an easy way to reduce waste and make great soil. We'll share
some simple tips and plans so you can set up your own healthy compost pile at home! Ages: 12+. Reservations required. #33740203

AUGUST

Cooking with Seasonal Produce
Tuesday, August 25 | 5:30 — 8:30 pm
$40/person
It's harvest time and the garden is overflowing with produce. Join local foods advocate and experienced cook Sharann Watson and learn how to prepare a delicious meal using fresh seasonal veggies. You get to eat too! A delicious three-course meal prepared from farm produce is included in the workshop. Ages: 14+. Reservations required. #33741107

Yearly Cardholder Rate:  $25
One card per family. Please give the names of all participating family members at time of purchase. Cards are valid for a full calendar year.

Cardholders will receive:

• 20% discount on workshop fees
• Free attendance to our annual Harvest Hoedown Celebration the fourth Saturday of September.

9am to 5pm, Monday - Saturday; noon - 5pm on Sunday.
