Three Rivers Park District offers numerous programs for scouts of all
ages. Individual scouts or troops may come to a public program or troops may schedule a program just for their group.

Individual and Group
Opportunities
- Schedule a program with a nature center. Call the site you're interested in directly to customize an outing. (Phone numbers are listed below.)
- Work on badges or projects in the park on your own. You can always stop by a nature center to ask a naturalist a question.
- Backpack Programs - Check out a backpack with materials you'll need to explore tracks, birds, wildflowers, tree, orienteering and leaves at Eastman Nature Center, the Kroening Interpretive Center or Richardson Nature Center. Kits vary by site, so you may want to call ahead. The Kroening Interpretive Center also offers free activity guides in English, Spanish and Hmong.

Overnight Opportunities for Scouts
Experience the outdoors beneath a sky filled with constellations! Three Rivers Park District offers many places for scouts to stay overnight! Baker Near-Wilderness Settlement is the location for an authentic cabin camping experience for scouts of all ages. The Near-Wilderness Settlement includes 8 log cabins, a magnificent Lodge, a fully furnished kitchen, and a professional outdoor education staff to help lead scouting programs and assist with the overnight stay.
If your group desires a tent experience, Three Rivers Park District has what you need. Three family campgrounds present a natural setting for campers at Baker Park Reserve Campground, Lake Auburn Campground, and Red Pine Hike-in Camping area.
In addition, Three Rivers offers 26 group campsites that are perfect for scout groups! The group camping sites are located in Baker Park Reserve, Carver Park Reserve, Cleary Lake Regional Park, Crow-Hassan Park, Elm Creek Park Reserve, Hyland Lake Park Reserve, Lake Rebecca Park Reserve, and Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve.

Are you looking for the right blend of expertise and fun? Let a Three Rivers Park District Outdoor Education Specialist design and lead a program to meet your scouting needs or help your troop earn their scout badge.
Programs take place within scenic Three Rivers Park District locations. Experts in nature and natural history can accommodate scouts of all ages. All outdoor equipment is provided.

Other Recreation Programming
Three Rivers Park District Outdoor Recreation programming introduces youth and adults to a wide variety of skills and activities that enable participants to have a lifetime of fun in the outdoors. Our staff is highly skilled in a range of activities including all paddling sports for flat or moving water, GPS/Geo-caching/navigation, team building exercises, archery and a multitude of beginner to intermediate camp skills.
